Mustering for Vigilus: Medge's Adeptus Mechanicus, End of Month 2

The war was not going well...
Tech Priest Dominos Viir was everywhere and nowhere, his consciousness spread thin across the noospheric web surrounding the hidden Mechanicum facility on Kaelec's Bane. By his calculation it had been 75.8624 solar cycles since the enemy <Designation: Worldclaimer, Haarken> had proclaimed the coming of the Arch-Heretic <Designation: Abaddon, Colloquial: "The Despoiler"> to Vigilus. In that time he had received input telemetry from 62,128 individual Skitarii from across Kealec Bane; the constant stream of information his shield against the hordes of the enemy <Designation: Black Legion>

Medge's Necromunda - The rise of the Sacred Flame: Part 2

February saw me complete converting and painting the Sacred Flame, and start the Necromunda campaign in earnest.

Before I show off any photos I want to make it clear that my INTENTION was not to spend any money on Necromunda... I planned on using stuff in my backlog (the Neophite Hybrids from Kill Team) to get started on a Warband whilst borrowing the rule books from friends. After 3 games of Necromunda I've jumped full in and picked up the starter box and both sets of rules! (so much for being good!)

Despite these purchased I'm sticking with the Sacred Flame Chaos Cult for this years Necromunda Campaign (fully expecting to go Escher or Goliath next time!)

So allow me to introduce you to my gang...

Mustering for Vigilus: Neil's Ultramarines, Month 2 Update

Quick update on painting for this month as I have actually finished what I had aimed to paint :) I've actually painted slightly more than this, so I have some pictures of a Primaris Lieutenant and 10 Intercessors for you to look at.

Mustering for Vigilus - Tim’s Primaris - end of month 1

So, a belated end of month 1 for the Dawnbringers Primaris... unfortunately real life, in the form of my partner having an accident which she is still stoically recovering from, has intervened and my blog posting has not been as frequent as I’d have liked.

However, I have completed 7 Primaris to add to the heroic Dawnbringers, as I look ahead now eagerly to the coolness that is the Shadowspear battle box and the new vanguard chamber company being opened deployed! As a chaos marine player and lover of hobby bargains (I have about 5 know no fear starter sets, which supplied an entire army of mutated plague marine conversions and a whole deathshroud squad of lord of contagion conversions...), the heretic in me is thrilled to see this set!

But with my loyalist hat on, I present to you the first 5 intercessors (3 of whom happen to be sergeants; I adjusted the colour scheme after them to be less weathered so thought I would make the more weatherbeaten guys the longest serving, the squad leaders) and 2 hellblasters. I have to say I am super pleased how the colour scheme worked out- nice and unique; heroic but not entirely unrealistic (much as I love the howling griffons scheme!).

Mustering for Vigilus: James' Adeptus Custodes, End of Month 1

Hi guys,

February is here and that means one thing - It's time for pledge updates!

This month my goal was to paint a squad of 3 Custodian Guard and top it off with the mighty Trajann Valoris, Captain General of Legio Custodes. As you can see from the above picture I managed to complete my first pledge and I'm very happy with the final result.

Mustering for Vigilus: Neil's Ultramarines, End of Month 1

Its the first day of February and the first month of our tale of four gamers has come to an end.  The aim each month is to paint a box's worth of models to build up to a 1000 point Warhammer 40k army for a doubles event, more info can be found in my Intro post for this tale.

My aim this month was to paint up Marneus Calgar in the Armour of Heraclus and his Victrix Honour Guard.  This would give me a good start as Calgar makes a great warlord for an Ultramarines force as well as being a really nice new model.

Mustering for Vigilus: Medge's Adeptus Mechanicus, End of Month 1

January comes to an end, and with it the first month of our Tale.

For those that didn't read my Intro post, we're pledging small elements at each step to stop ourselves from getting too carried away.

I, as you will soon learn is in my character, got carried away!

Rise of Iron - Assembling House Orlock

Hi All,

Think it's about time I add another post to this blog, I can't let Medge and Neil do all the hard work!

Necromunda is a game I'd long been looking to get involved with; However with the rules spread out over 5 different books, each with a rather hefty price tag attached, I've been struggling to justify actually taking the leap and buying in. How fortunate I was then that at the end of last year not only did Games Workshop at last bless us with a full rules compendium but my club also decided to organise a Turf War campaign in honour of the occasion. It seemed that there were many people like me just waiting to get involved once the rule books arrived. So with this I decided to jump in and join a gang.

Bash the Back-log! with Medge - An Introduction

Backlogs.

We all have them; it's part of being a wargamer!

Legend has it that so long as a Wargamer has unpainted models they can never die (and by legend I mean the guy I knew at University that got me back into the hobby... and it's a legend I chose to believe!)

WW3 - 27th (Neil's Own) Lancers - Hail to the Chief-tain

Hi all, I have now completed the painting of my five Chieftain tanks, which are divided into a Company HQ unit consisting of a single Chieftain and two Squads of two Chieftains in game to form a minimum sized Chieftain Armoured Company formation.

I have tried to go for a historical style paint scheme but there are some bits that may be non historical colours or styles for game play reasons.

Painting Guide: Neil's Alarith Stoneguard

Hi all Neil here with a guide on how I painted up my Alarith Stoneguard for my growing Lumineth army.  This is more of a post for myself to...
