Necromunda's 766th Precinct: Neil's Palanite Enforcers; Starting Roster

Hi all Neil here with something new.  This is the first post about my Necromunda gang for which I've chosen to go with Palanite Enforcers as they look super cool (and my other choice is already played by another warlord).  To kick these off I picked up the standard box of Enforcers then headed over to Yaktribe with some guidance by Thomas and James (and a bit from Matt too) went about putting together a 1000 credits starting gang.  I have created a 7 man starting roster which seems pretty solid but not actually knowing how to play or even owning the rulebook I'm going on what the others have said.  This lack of rulebook does mean that I haven't done anything with skills but at some point I will probably with some guidance again.

Bash the Backlog; Lockdown Edition - by Medge

Welcome back to Bash the Backlog, a mini-series in which I try to correct that most egregious of hobby sins; the huge pile of unpainted plastic!

It's been over six months since my last #BashtheBacklog entry (see Sigmar's Storm for that one!), with most of my backlog work coming as part of Blood of the Angel and For the Greater Good series. I have, however, worked on a few other projects in between these major series; palette-cleanser models between projects or odds-and-ends that either needed tying off, or were supposed to trigger a bigger project that never took off.

As one of my final posts of the year I wanted to capture these one-off projects in a single post so they don't become forgotten, and can act as a little inspiration for what I hope will be a brighter 2021!

So let's jump into it!

Gangs of the Underhive; The Black Roses by Medge

About 18 months ago I launched a short series for Necromunda, based on a campaign I was playing with my Chaos Cult; the Sacred Flame.
The series was only 2 parts, because I got stomped in the game and lost my appetite for Necromunda.
When our local club's second campaign started I got back involved with a new gang, this time from House Escher. Despite having a horrific campaign and getting dumped out pretty hard... again... I rediscovered my love for the game, particularly for the lethal ladies of House Escher.

With so many different projects over the last 12 months my Escher models slipped deeper into the Backlog pile, but the current CoVID crisis has finally given me the time to get some paint on to the ladies.

So may I present - the Black Roses!

James' Necromunda - The Formless Court Assembles

Now that the Mustering for Vigilus is over I need to find a new project to dive into. Fortunately for me the local games club is starting another round of it's Necromunda Dominion campaign, I couldn't really ask for better timing on that. There's not much of a bigger change than going from the perfectly crafted gene enhanced super soldiers of the Custodians to a motley band of gangers slumming it in the Underhive of Necromunda, but I'm really looking forward to enjoying all the narrative that's packed into the game.

Medge's Necromunda - The rise of the Sacred Flame: Part 2

February saw me complete converting and painting the Sacred Flame, and start the Necromunda campaign in earnest.

Before I show off any photos I want to make it clear that my INTENTION was not to spend any money on Necromunda... I planned on using stuff in my backlog (the Neophite Hybrids from Kill Team) to get started on a Warband whilst borrowing the rule books from friends. After 3 games of Necromunda I've jumped full in and picked up the starter box and both sets of rules! (so much for being good!)

Despite these purchased I'm sticking with the Sacred Flame Chaos Cult for this years Necromunda Campaign (fully expecting to go Escher or Goliath next time!)

So allow me to introduce you to my gang...

Rise of Iron - Assembling House Orlock

Hi All,

Think it's about time I add another post to this blog, I can't let Medge and Neil do all the hard work!

Necromunda is a game I'd long been looking to get involved with; However with the rules spread out over 5 different books, each with a rather hefty price tag attached, I've been struggling to justify actually taking the leap and buying in. How fortunate I was then that at the end of last year not only did Games Workshop at last bless us with a full rules compendium but my club also decided to organise a Turf War campaign in honour of the occasion. It seemed that there were many people like me just waiting to get involved once the rule books arrived. So with this I decided to jump in and join a gang.

Medge's Necromunda - The rise of the Sacred Flame

It all began, as it often does, with flame...

A young boy orphaned in the never-ending turf-wars in the Underhive of Necromunda, his first clear memory the pyroclastic blossom of promethium engulfing his father and mother.

His second memory being "rescued" by the Candle Man; a strange man covers in robes, his head adorned with candles; the flames of the candles dancing to the same rhythm as the flames still burning on his parents corpses.
In the years to come the youth would make the connection, he would realise his saviour was also the man who condemmed him to a parentless life, but on that first day he was only the Candle Man, preacher of the Redemption, and foster father to dozens of young orphans.

Painting Guide: Neil's Alarith Stoneguard

Hi all Neil here with a guide on how I painted up my Alarith Stoneguard for my growing Lumineth army.  This is more of a post for myself to...
