Xenos on Crusade: Neil the Devourer; Hive Fleet Lindworm Month 4

Hi all it's Neil the Devourer here with another update on my Tyranids from Hive Fleet Lindworm for our Xenos on Crusade group project.  The hive fleet has expanded again and gained a Tyranid Warrior brood, a Hive Guard brood, a Zoanthrope brood as well as a Neurothrope and Tyranid Prime to lead them.  This means that I can play with some more medium infantry as well as some much needed ranged options in the Hive Guard with their gun and their Wizard Bugs with their brain blasts.

Mustering for Vigilus: Tim's Primaris, End of Month (4 and) 5

Here we are, at the end of Month 5, and I haven't even done Month 4's post yet - here, therefore, are both of these months' catch up collected together. Progress on my Primaris has been fairly slow due to life and its many distractions... and also the huge chaos release in March, which distracted me back to Heresy for a while.

However, after a thorough purge by my company's Chaplain and some awkward questions from a visiting Inquisitor (my thumbs have since recovered enough to paint), I am now fully certified as a loyalist cur.

My focus has been on getting some troops done to make my 750pt list, while fending off Chaotic distractions. Accordingly, I have painted 7 fresh intercessors to give me a core (and the heart of a Deathwatch battalion). I like how these guys come out, though I am yet to fully pin down the quickest way to do their colour scheme - it is a balancing act between shades and highlighting on a fairly uniform dusty surface, so any stains or missteps show up clearly. However I am pleased with the final result - the dust, red and gold has a nice combination of the heraldic with the realistic.

Mustering for Vigilus - James' Adeptus Custodes, End of Month 4

So then April has been and gone and I've completely forgotten to do a hobby update. In all honesty it wasn't a good month for me and I've struggled to find a decent amount of time to really sit down and paint much at all. My pledge for April was to get through a Shield Captain, 3 Allarus Terminators and at a stretch the Achillus Dreadnought. In the end I only managed to get the Shield Captain and a single Allarus done. Rather than mope around on missed opportunity I thought I'd focus on ways I can get my painting mojo back and work out a schedule to keep me on track.

Mustering for Vigilus: Neil's Ultramarines; End of Month 4

April is over and another stage in our tale of four gamers Mustering for Viligus is over.  This month I'd planned to paint a single Ultramarine, but he is the primogenator of the Chapter and the Legion before it, the Primarch Roboute Guilliman and some members of the Adeptus Custodes to accompany the Imperial Regent, a trio of Allarus Terminators.

So this was my aim, how did I do with the painting?

Mustering for Vigilus: Medge's Adeptus Mechanicus, End of Month 4

The first four months of the year are behind us, and it's bloody terrifying! Where oh where does the time go! Best to not dwell on all the things I haven't done, and focus on all the things I have - namely paint loads of models!
Vigilus' stands defiant... just about! Abaddon and the Black Legion gave it their best (worst???) but still the Imperium hangs on - defiant till the last!

This month saw me add a few more mechanical warriors of the Adeptus Mechanicus to the Imperial defenders still standing.

Up first, a second Onagar Dunecrawler to accompany the first one I painted in Month 1

Painting Guide: Neil's Alarith Stoneguard

Hi all Neil here with a guide on how I painted up my Alarith Stoneguard for my growing Lumineth army.  This is more of a post for myself to...
