Hi all it's Neil here with another update for my Hive Fleet Lindworm for Xenos on Crusade. This month's update will be the last for the Xenos on Crusade as with 2020 ended our group project has ended too. I may revisit Lindworm in the future but for now I'll be moving onto other projects. This month's edition to the swarm has been 8 genestealers, which are the last Tyranid models I had left in my backlog.

Xenos on Crusade: Neil the Devourer; Hive Fleet Lindworm Month 3
Hi all it's Neil here back with a new update for my Tyranids in our Xenos on Crusade series. Hive Fleet Lindworm has been expanding with the addition of a Maleceptor and a Toxicrene. Lindworm has also been pretty active on the socially distanced battlefield since the lockdown rules have eased enough for outdoor gaming to start up. The Toxicrene and Maleceptor bring me up to having 50 (well 49) power painted and ready.

Xenos on Crusade: Neil the Devourer; Hive Fleet Lindwyrm Month 2
Hi all it's Neil here with a look at my second month's progress on our 9th edition 40k group project. This months aim was to get any outstanding models from the 50 power initial list built and to get at least 25 power painted ready for battle. For me, I had ended month 1 with 22 power's worth of models painted up already though I was still 17 power down on having built my planned 50 power. The only model I had left to paint at the beginning of the month was my Tyrannofex so this made its way from the spawning pools to the painting table.

Xenos on Crusade: Neil the Devourer; Hive Fleet Lindworm Month 1
Hi all, its Neil here with a look at my first month's progress on our 9th edition group project. Month 1 had the aim to get a 50 power list built and at least one unit painted from this. I'll show you below how I've done and what the plan for month 2 is for Hive Fleet Lindworm.

Xenos on Crusade: Introductions and Kick Off
What a great time for hobby, eh?
Games Workshop's announcement of 9th Edition 40k has come as a very welcome burst of excitement in these difficult times, and reignited the passion and interest in 40k for all our Warlords.
There's so much great stuff coming out on Warhammer Community right now for the new Edition it really is shaping up to be the best edition of Warhammer 40k to date!
One of the new ways of playing that has really piqued our interest is the Crusade system. For those not following the community page, Crusade is a new narrative way of playing that will see your force evolve over consecutive battles. Not only does your force increase in strength from game to game (via points/power rewards that allow you to bring more to the table), your individual units are able to earn honours (bonus rules/stats) and battle scars (negative rules/stats) for the acts they commit on the tabletop.
This RPG-style evolution of a force doesn't only sound like a great way of playing normally... but the perfect set-up for another Tale of Five Gamers!

Hive Fleet Lindworm: The First Wave
The darkness falls on the warp over and the hive mind sends in the first tendril of Lindworm. Hordes of hormagaunts swarm the defences probing for weakness and screening the more important warrior-strains landing behind them.
A new 40k project for my will be my first xeno army for a few years, I have decided to go with Tyranids as a strong contrast to my usual power armoured flavour of army. Additionally I am using this army to try out the new Contrast paints range from Games Workshop as Tyranids have lots of different textures that will work well with these new paints.
To kick off this project I decided to get two boxes of hormagaunts, which gives me an almost max strength unit of them that I can use to run across the table and hit things in melee.
Colours wise for my hive fleet I decided to colour theory it to pick some colours and went with a triadic scheme of orange, green and purple from the colour wheel.
