Hi all Neil here with something new. This is the first post about my Necromunda gang for which I've chosen to go with Palanite Enforcers as they look super cool (and my other choice is already played by another warlord). To kick these off I picked up the standard box of Enforcers then headed over to Yaktribe with some guidance by Thomas and James (and a bit from Matt too) went about putting together a 1000 credits starting gang. I have created a 7 man starting roster which seems pretty solid but not actually knowing how to play or even owning the rulebook I'm going on what the others have said. This lack of rulebook does mean that I haven't done anything with skills but at some point I will probably with some guidance again.
1 Palantine Captain with Shock Stave and Concussion Carbine
1 Palantine Sergeant with Shock Stave and Enforcer Shotgun
1 Palantine Sergeant with Enforcer Boltgun
1 Palantine Patrolman with Concussion Carbine
1 Palantine Patrolman with Enforcer Shotgun
2 Palantine Patrolmen with Enforcer Boltguns
This is exactly 1000 credits cost and doesn't use the full 10 enforcers build-able from the box which means I have 3 still which when I start playing I can build to be something I find I need without having to get another box. I have also avoided using any of the Subjugators currently so that I could get my initial gang out of the single box.
The reason for doing this is that hopefully gaming will become allowed again and it gives me more options to start playing again with my fellow warlords as the last to jump on the Necromunda train. I have also really enjoyed painting then and have tried to make them look dark and menacing as befits how I see the Enforcers within Necromunda.
To do this I've tried to keep a minimalist palette with most of the colours being dark with a couple of areas being brighter.
- The armour I've done with black and then highlighted with Eshin Grey and Dawnstone.
- The metallics I've done with Leadbelcher then washed with Nuln Oil first then again with Agrax Earthshade before finally highlighting Ironbreaker on them.
- The weapon cowling is done with Khorne Red washed with Nuln Oil and hoghlighted first with Wazdakka Red then Squig Orange.
- The first bright area is the circle on the breastplate which is done in Averland Sunset, then washed Carroburg Crimson. Yriel Yellow is then layered over the top and finally the kind of skull eagle icon transfer is put on to with the idea that this is their mark of authority so its displayed clearly.
- The eyes I chose to do in the red-orange glowing kind of style, which to me would be indimidating if the enforcer came at you out of the gloom of the underhive, by starting at Mephiston Red shaded with Casandora Yellow then layered up Troll Slayer Orange and Fire Dragon Bright to give the glow.
- The last bit on the model are the shoulder marking which I'm using to designate the model's rank so the Captain has three bars, Sergeant gets two, a Patrolman gets one and any Rookie that gets added later wouldn't get any. These were done with Celestra grey then Ulthuan Grey and White Scar highlight. This little detail should help both myself and my opponent easily tell what level of model is coming at them during the game.
I'm not sure when I'll be posting again for this mini-project but I would guess it would be ether my first game or when I have painted up some Subjugators. I post regularly over on my Instagram with WIP pictures of my current painting projects if you like to check that out otherwise I will see you again at some point for some more Necromunda from me.
Nicely done! I really need to paint mine...
ReplyDeleteThanks, they were a good little project to paint. I'm hoping to sometime in the future get some Subjugators as well to paint.
