Returning to Vigilus: Reinforcements for House Esmaral

Vigilus has come and gone in the Warhammer narrative, paving the way for the Psychic Awakening. Our Tale of Four Warlords for Vigilus finished many moons ago, and for several month my Adeptus Mechanicus and Imperial Knight forces have sat dormant, safe inside their Forge Complexes (also know as my hobby cabinets!) patiently awaiting their next excursion.

Whilst their next outing is still a few weeks off, some well needed reinforcements have arrived to bolster House Esmaral! Enter Lord Johan Virran and his squires; the big guns march to war!

Lord Johan Virran commands the mighty "Bastion" - a Knight Castellan and one of the major offensive armaments of the Knighty House. Johan Virran is an aged and venerable pilot, his years of battlefield experience tempering his humours and making him the perfect fit for dealing ranged death.

At his side ride his two mighty squires

The two Knight Armigers act in support of Bastion, providing some anti-air and anti-infantry cover to complement Basions deadly firepower.

Both these kits came as part of a present earlier in the year, and whilst I didn't have the time to paint them up for our Vigilus Campaign they do make very nice, and welcome, reinforcements for the forces of House Esmaral and Forge World Pitar Tertius.

I've adopted the same paint scheme for these new Knights as I did my old - Green offering the main carapace colours with the White and Purple of Pitar Tertius as the accompanying colour. The rear of the right shoulder guards sport the red of Mars with the black cog motif (same as my prior Knights)

You'll also notice a snazzy base for Bastion

In order to tie the model in with the rest of my army I've added a few extra Skiratii to the base. Hopefully it'll add something extra when the whole force is assembled!!

You may also notice a change in the tabard armor symbol

As with all my Knights, the wear the icons of the Chapters they serve with on their armor. Who does this unknown chapter badge belong to?! Stay tuned to see... #2020!

Lucky for me I didn't need to wait long to give the new Knights a run out. I was lucky enough to play a big apocalypse game two weeks ago and got to take the full Household out to battle

It was a great day out, and I'm super pleased to say Bastion and the other Knights scored a major kill; a slaying a Warhound Titan!! It was a massive over-commitment in resources and the dice could definitely have been spent better elsewhere... but Omnissiah be praised it was a good feeling!!

These probably represent the end of my AdMech for a while (with the AdMech backlog completed!) but with new Tanks and the new Flyer just announced I'm sure to pick them up next year!

Until next time, so long!
